Local Federal Member for Oxley Milton Dick MP and Labor’s Shadow Minister for Health and Medicare Catherine King MP will host the Goodna and Redbank Seniors Forum at the Goodna Services Club Function Centre on Monday April 16th from 11am – 12noon.
Featuring representatives from Centrelink and the Queensland Police Service, the forum is expected to be attended by over 100 seniors and pensioners.
Ms King will address the gathering of seniors followed by a discussion on access to affordable healthcare, pensions and superannuation.
Sergeant Nadine Webster from the Queensland Police Service will also be on hand to give advice on keeping your home safe.
Local member Milton Dick MP said the forum would provide an important opportunity for seniors to be informed about proposed changes to payment of pensions.
“With increasing changes facing pensioners and seniors it’s important that there is information readily available” said Mr Dick.
“I’m really pleased that representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer practical tips and advice on how to stay safe at home and when people are out and about.
“The Seniors Forum is now an annual event for the Oxley electorate and has proved popular with seniors and pensioners.”
