FUNDING A SAFER ARCHERFIELD RD, PINE RD AND AZALEA ST INTERSECTION IN RICHLANDS Main Image

The Albanese Government continues to improve road safety in Queensland, delivering funding for safety upgrades at the Archerfield Rd, Pine Rd and Azaela St Intersection in Richlands QLD.  

The project will deliver signalisation, drainage and lighting upgrades to the identified black spot to help mitigate high speeds, increase sight distance provide signalised give-way.

The Albanese Government is committing $3,000,000 to the project as part of $30.2million committed to Queensland roads under the 2026-27 Black Spot Program funding round. 

The project has also received $2,921,500 in funding from the Brisbane City Council.

The projects were recommended by the Queensland Black Spot Consultative Panel. This panel is comprised of local stakeholders to ensure nominations of the highest priority and importance to the local community are recommended for approval.

The Black Spot Program provides $150 million annually towards improving road safety at sites right across the country.

It is a key part of the Albanese Government’s commitment under the National Road Safety Strategy 2021–2030 to reducing fatalities and serious injuries on our roads.

Anyone can nominate a Black Spot for consideration, including individuals, community groups and local councils.
